After 10 years playing under the name of County Upper, The County Upper Wolves Basketball Club will be changing their name to the West Suffolk Wolves Basketball Club.

Back in 2010, Coach Johnson, started the Club additionally for the U19 Basketball Academy. It began by entering the Academy team into the Men’s National League, originally presented as County Upper Suffolk Lions. In doing so, County Upper became Suffolk’s First Men’s National League team and one of the first Basketball Academies in England to enter Men’s National League.

After 2 seasons playing Men’s Senior National League, Coach Johnson changed his focus with the club and began to develop youth basketball within and around Bury St Edmunds, expanding the club further than just the original academy. They represented the names County Upper Bulldogs and County Upper Suffolk Coyotes, before finally becoming the County Upper Wolves for the 2015 – 2016 season, of which we are known today.

The change in name invites new beginnings and new basketball opportunities in the West of Suffolk. So we say goodbye, but not to forget, the famous County Upper Wolves, and lets welcome the West Suffolk Wolves into the basketball community starting from Saturday the 30th of May 2020!
